Logo types
Logos come in all shapes and sizes, falling into several category types (as defined below). Designing a logo is not simply about aesthetics - it should be a reflection of the service or product it represents...
Icons and symbols are images that portray a particular company or product using imagery that shows either a literal or abstract representation of the organisation.
Examples: Nike | Shell | Mercedes
Wordmarks or Letterforms use one or more fonts as a symbol, incorporating your company name into a uniquely styled font.
Examples: Dell | NASA | BT
Combination Marks - use both graphics and text to portray your brand image.
Examples: McDonalds | Domino's Pizza
The addition of a strapline to any of the above choices can further endorse your service of product area.
